DRTY Youth Group
A community and social network for 8th to 12th graders.
We’ve been hoping, and now it looks like we can have in-person events, under specific protocols that have been approved by the CBH Covid-19 Task Force. Below are documents that require you to read and respond in advance. It will not be possible to attend these events without prior clearance; if you have questions, please contact Teen & DRTY Coordinator Alexander Watson.
Join us for an IN PERSON final event complete with voting, food, and camaraderie. COVID-19 protocols will apply. In order to attend this event, all participants MUST complete this consent form and send negative results from a COVID-19 test within three days prior to the event (June 2, 3, or 4). Both of these tasks must be completed and emailed to Alexander Watson by 12:00pm on June 5th.
DRTY is our youth group program at CBH that creates a community and social network for our teens from eighth through twelfth grade. (Davis Reform Temple Youth is one interpretation of the initials, but not the only one.)
Members of DRTY are also invited to participate in NFTY, the national Jewish youth movement associated with Reform Judaism, at regional events. Our DRTY chapter is led by an elected board of teens who meet monthly to develop programs and strengthen outreach to our teen community. More information about events will be available following the DRTY Board Retreat in late August. It is our pleasure to introduce our DRTY Board Members for the 2020-21 year:
Co-Presidents: Brianna Singer & Alexa Folb
Programming Vice-President: Mayah Moore
Social Action Vice-President: Leila Ordonez
Religious & Cultural Education Vice-President: A.J. Whithaus
Membership Vice President: Marley Kubby-Adler
Communications Vice-Presidents: Lily Schroeder & Ruby Kubby-Adler
Treasurer: Noa Vinkurov
Eighth Grade Representative: Django Nachmanoff
We are excited to introduce Alexander Watson as our new Teen Engagement Coordinator. Some of you may already know Alexander from his involvement in our CBH community, his work as a substitute for our Confirmation Class, or his time supporting our Teen Space Time and a DRTY event. If you haven’t yet met him, I know that you will be delighted and will enjoy working with him. Alexander grew up in the Washington D.C. area where he was very involved in his synagogue, worked as a madrich, served on his temple youth group (TYG) board, and was actively involved in NFTY. Alexander has worked with teens and young adults as a debate coach in Minnesota, at a summer program at Yale, as a Resident Assistant in college, and in his Peace Corps work in Liberia. He is a graduate of Macalester College, spent a semester abroad at the University of Haifa, and is currently a full-time student at the UC Davis School of Law. For more information about DRTY, you may contact Alexander at email@example.com; please note the new teen email address.
Enrollment is accepted at any time during the school year. If there is an unpaid balance from the last school year (2019-20), please contact the CBH office (530-758-0842) to make a payment.
DRTY Membership is now $200 bundled with Keshet or Confirmation, or for confirmation graduates. Without the bundle, fees are $245 for CBH Partners, and $275 for Non-Partners. There is a $25 per event fee if not registered for the annual DRTY membership.
A minimum payment of 50% of the unpaid balance from a previous school year is required before you can register your child for the upcoming school year, and a payment plan needs to be in place for the remainder of the balance. Current school year payment options include paying in full, quarterly, or monthly payments. Financial assistance is available. Please review our tuition assistance policy, and then contact the Executive Director confidentially.
