Through our affiliation with Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), we are fortunate to partner with the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) as the exclusive recruitment entity for CBH’s next Rabbi.  This is a service that the URJ/CCAR provide for all affiliated congregations as a part of our annual dues.  CCAR has a long track record of successful rabbinic placements and all candidates will be presented through their network.

Will the Search Committee be looking for an interim or permanent Rabbi?

On behalf of the CBH Board, Co-Presidents Mitch Singer and Steve Cohen are pleased to inform Partners that on 4/13, a decision was made by the Board to search for a Permanent (Settled) Rabbi.  This decision is the culmination of an intensive period of evaluation. The Rabbinic Process Team, researched the pros and cons of hiring an Interim Rabbi vs. a Permanent (Settled) Rabbi. After 3 months of calls, discussions with the CCAR (Central Conference of American Rabbis), the Union for Reform Judaism staff, research, and considering the voices of our CBH partners as expressed in our community engagement events, the Rabbinic Process Team brought a recommendation to the Board, requesting that a search be conducted for a Settled Rabbi. After considering this proposal and engaging in an open, transparent discussion, and with the support of Rabbi Greg, the Board voted, unanimously, to begin a search for a Settled Rabbi.
