High Holy Days

Please join us for the Days of Awe and related observances, beginning with Selichot on Saturday, September 1, 2018, through Simchat Torah on Friday, October 2, 2018

The 2018 (5778-5779) High Holy Days schedule is posted below.

Services requiring a High Holy Days ticket are marked with an asterisk (*).

Tickets are now available for purchase at THIS LINK; current Bet Haverim partners in good standing will receive tickets via U.S. Mail during the week of August 10.

 

Pricing for non-partner ticket purchases is a follows:

  • Adults under age 65 = $180 per person
  • Senior citizens age 65+ = $36 per person
  • University students (student ID required), active military members (military ID required) and visitors from Israel are eligible for complimentary tickets
  • Reciprocal tickets may be available to members in good standing of other Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) congregations.  Please contact or 530-758-0842 for more information

 

To obtain tickets, please visit www.bethaverim.org/worship/hhdtickets2018.  Credit or debit cards may be used to make any payment due.  Or, after Monday, August 13, visit or send a request to the office at 1715 Anderson Road, Davis, CA 95616 to pay using cash or check.  Office hours are Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., and Fridays 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Children's Programming is available for a fee during some High Holy Day services and events. Click HERE for details and a registration form. Additionally, FREE Children's services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur Days also will be offered (see schedule below).

The deadline to submit names for the annual Yizkor Booklet is by FRIDAY, September 7th to be distributed at the Yom Kippur Yizkor Service.

ROSH HASHANAH

Erev - Sunday, September 9

  • A service for children age 6 and under, and their families, 5:30 to 6:16 p.m., location t.b.d.
  • Kabbalat Panim: A Gathering of Reconnection, 6:45 p.m., Redwood Grove
  • Communal Ritual of New Beginnings, 7:15 p.m., Redwood Grove
  • *Our Traditional Service, 7:30 p.m., Sanctuary, with Rabbi Greg Wolfe, Ken Firestein, and Rebecca Plack
  • *Tefillah Hadashah:  Contemporary Reform Service, 7:30 p.m., Social Hall, with Student Rabbi David Aladjem, Student Cantor Shayndel Adler-Eldridge, and Dan Tennenbaum

  • *Contemporary Reform Service, 9:00 a.m., Social Hall, with Rabbi Greg Wolfe and Dan Tennenbaum
  • Children's Service with Student Cantor Shayndel Adler-Eldridge, ages 6-10 - 10:00 - 10:40 a.m., North Classroom

Yom Kippur Day - Wednesday, September 19

      • Shiviti Workshop, a special program with Dani Antman to create your own shiviti (visual aid for meditation), using the themes of Sukkot

 

Friday, September 28: Family Sukkot Celebration

      • Stories in the Sukkah with Joel Ben Izzy, 6:00 - 6:45 p.m. 
      • Catered Shabbat Dinner in the Sukkah, 6:45 - 7:45 p.m.
      • Stories in the Teen Space with Joel Ben Izzy, 7:30 - 8:00 p.m.
      • Adult Education Stories in the Sukkah with Joel Ben Izzy, 8:00 - 9:30 p.m.
