Modern Living: Maintaining Balance

March 3, 10; April 7, 14; 10:15 - 11:45 a.m. Congregation Bet Haverim is delighted to bring an offering from the Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning. "Modern Living: Maintaining Balance" will present four sessions that will help parents to find balance in their lives using Jewish texts and wisdom. The overall focus will be on family and lessons will include work, community, self-care and finding balance.

This course will be taught by Sara Kahn Shapiro, the Director of the Florence Melton School in Sacramento.  Many of our families will already know Sara from her work at CBH as our Kitah Dalet Teacher as well as a Bnai Mitzvah Tutor.  Sara has inspired a love of Jewish learning among children, teens and families from many communities over several decades.  She is a graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts as well as Fontbonne University with a Master of Arts in Family and Consumer Sciences Education.  Sara’s goals are to nurture individual spiritual growth and to strengthen the Jewish community.

The cost for all four sessions is $50.00 and includes materials. Scholarships are available.  For more information, please contact Ardyth Sokoler, Director of Education & Youth, school@bethaverim.org.
