Sukkot Celebration with Joel Ben Izzy

The Education & Youth Department in conjunction with the Adult Education Committee is delighted to bring Joel Ben Izzy, Jewish storyteller, to Congregation Bet Haverim. Join us on Friday, September 28, 2018, for a variety of programs as we celebrate Sukkot and Shabbat.

Stories in the Sukkah; 6:00 p.m.; CBH Sukkah

Catered Dinner; 6:45 p.m.; CBH Sukkah and outside area

Teen Space Time; 7:30-8:00 p.m.; Teen Space Lounge

Harvesting Our Stories; 8:00-9:00 p.m.; CBH Sukkah


Joel Ben IzzyOur evening will begin with a family-friendly story and song session, led by Joel Ben Izzy and Rabbi Greg, to welcome Shabbat and celebrate Sukkot. 

Our evening continues with a catered dinner from Selland’s Catering with a menu including vegetable lasagna, macaroni & cheese, salad, seasonal vegetables, and light desserts.  RSVP and payment for the dinner are required no later than Friday, September 21st.  Cost for the dinner will be $12.00 per adult, $6.00 per child (ages 3-12) and free for children under three.

All teens are invited for a special session with Joel in our Teen Space from 7:30-8:00pm.

Our evening will conclude with Harvesting Our Stories, an Adult Education offering.


These programs, with the exception of the catered dinner, are offered as a gift to our community; however donations, dedicated to either the Education & Youth Department or the Adult Education Committee are welcome. In addition, please note the Sponsorship opportunities offered below.

Shiviti Workshop with Dani Antman Working with author, healer, artist, and spiritual guide Dani Antman, participants in this workshop will create their own shiviti, a visual aid for meditation using a Hebrew name of God, which they will take home along with a daily meditation practice, that includes chanting, repetition of the Divine Name and breath awareness.
