Celebrate nightly at Bet Haverim!

Community Hanukkiah Lightings

Community Hanukkiah Lightings will take place each night of Hanukkah at 6:30 p.m. hosted by a CBH group or Committee.  Please add your light to the festive spirit!  Join in dreidel play, songs, treats and plenty of Hanukkah happiness. 

Hosts and locations are as follows:

  • Tuesday, December 12: CBH Board of Directors, Social Hall
  • Wednesday, December 13: Israeli Folk Dancing Group, Social Hall
  • Thursday, December 14: PreK/Kindergarten/1st Grade Families, Social Hall
  • Friday, December 15: "Shabbanukkah" community celebration, Social Hall (this night at 6:15 p.m. - see details below)
  • Saturday, December 16: This evening needs a host!  All groups, Committees, havurot and families or individuals are welcome to volunteer.  Social Hall.  Contact Joy Cohan to sign-up or for details.
  • Sunday, December 17: Keshet and Confirmation classes, Social Hall OR North Classroom
  • Monday, December 18:  Israel Matters Committee, North Classroom
  • Tuesday, December 19: Mindfulness Meditation Group, North Classroom


"Shabbanukkah" Community Celebration

On Friday, December 15, 2017, the hanukkiah lighting will be accompanied by "Shabbanukkah" activities for all ages!

  • Haverim K'tanim Stories and Songs, for children under age six and their families, Social Hall, 5:00 - 5:30 p.m.
  • "Pot Latke" potluck dinner, Social Hall, 5:30 - 6:15 p.m.  Bring a plate of latkes featuring your favorite recipe, as well as a main or side dish to share.
  • Community Hanukkiah Lighting, Social Hall, 6:15 - 6:30 p.m. (please note special time!), bring your family hanukkiah to illuminate along side our large-scale congregational hanukkiah.
  • Hanukkah Shabbat Service, featuring the 5th grade Religious School class, Sanctuary, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m., followed by an oneg hosted by 5th grade families.
