Events in 2018-19 for Families with young children

Join us at Bet Haverim during the year for opportunities to engage with other young families, and Jewish life at CBH.

These programs are designed for children under age 6 and their families (adult participation required); older siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends also are welcome!

All events will be held at Bet Haverim, in the North Classroom. Please follow this link for the most-recent calendar.

Shabbat Safari: Saturday, February 16, 2019, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Let’s celebrate the joy of Shabbat! We will begin with a Shabbat-themed art project and then sing and dance a lively Shabbat prayer circle. We will also visit the Sanctuary to see the Torah and have a kiddush with challah and grape juice. RSVP by Thursday, February 14, 2019 to Hazzan Shayndel: healing.round@gmail.com.

Shabbat Safari: Purim: Saturday, March 9, 2019, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Enjoy a Purim-inspired art project and songs. We will also visit the Sanctuary to see the Torah and have a kiddush with challah and grape juice. RSVP by Thursday, March 7, 2019 to Hazzan Shayndel: healing.round@gmail.com.

Bet Haverim Purim Carnival: Sunday, March 17, 2019, 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. This event brings the whole community together! On Purim, children of all ages have a grand time dressing in costume, playing games and eating delicious hamantaschen. Join in the carnival fun, featuring jump houses and games galore! No RSVP required.

Erev Purim Family Celebration: Wednesday, March 20, 2019, Time & Details TBD Save the Date for a fun Purim celebration with Rabbi Greg and your friends! More details will be shared closer to the event.

Shabbat Safari: Prepare for Pesach: Saturday, April 13, 2019, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Passover brings together family and friends for a ritual meal and a celebration of freedom. Join us for a children’s Seder, as we tell the story of Pesach with song and food! RSVP by Thursday, April 11, 2019 to Hazzan Shayndel: healing.round@gmail.com.

Bet Haverim Community Seder: Monday, April 22, 2019, 6 pm Another celebration to connect your family and your children with the traditions of our whole congregation. All ages are welcome; your little ones will not want to miss a fun retelling of the 10 plagues and hunting for the afikomen in the Social Hall!

Modern Living: Maintaining Balance March 3, 10; April 7, 14; 10:15 - 11:45 a.m. Congregation Bet Haverim is delighted to bring an offering from the Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning. "Modern Living: Maintaining Balance" will present four sessions that will help parents to find balance in their lives using Jewish texts and wisdom.
