Please join us for an exciting new play by the Honorable Ronald Tochterman of Sacramento (who happens to be Rabbi Greg’s cousin!) just in time for the High Holy Days. The screening will be on zoom and will feature an opportunity to dialogue with the playwright.
“Fear and Trembling.” A film of a staged reading of a one act (twenty-five minute) play by Ron Tochterman. The trial of Abraham for the Attempted Murder of Isaac. To be followed by the “jury’s” [the audience’s] deliberations facilitated by the playwright. On Rosh Hashanah we read the disturbing story of God asking Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. Did Abraham’s actions constitute Attempted Murder under modern law? You will be the jury and decide Abraham’s fate for all time. Director Janelle Kauffman. Technical Host Mike Agron. Actors Loren Taylor and Stephen Kauffman.
