A Home for 8th - 12th Graders at Bet Haverim

Keshet

Friendship, fun, education and engaging activities tailored to the interests of CBH teens in 8th - 12th grades. The course work also explores current events impacting teens' Jewish experiences.  The program goal is to create a strong community of youth at Bet Haverim, and returning instructor Noah Bennett is setting the course for the year.  Meets on Sunday evenings; see schedule details below.

Confirmation

Education and preparation for this Springtime life cycle event is offered along with social interaction for 10th-12th grade students with Rabbi Greg Wolfe. As with the Keshet program described above, this is a Sunday evening program.

Davis Reform Temple Youth (DRTY)

The group focuses upon social interaction with other Jewish teens in a setting guided by Jewish values.  This opportunity enables teens to build lifelong connections with peers outside of the classroom environment.  Sarah Turtletaub leads this group.

The DRTY Board has planned an outstanding calendar for 2017-2018, based upon feedback from past program participants combined with new ideas that the teens have brought forward.  New this year, one enrollment fee will cover all 12 events on this calendar.  Teens not wishing to register up front for the entire program may participate in events at $25/each, collected at the time of event RSVP.

Enrollment

The 2017-2018 Keshet/Confirmation/DRTY Registration Form and fee payment information are available at this link.

Enrollment is accepted at any time during the school year, and the fee is $400 per student for Keshet/Confirmation and $154 per teen for DRTY.  Financial assistance is available; please inquire with the Executive Director confidentially for more details.

The 2017-2018 Keshet and Confirmation Programs will begin on Sunday, October 1 with an Open House, followed on Sunday, October 8 by a student dinner and excursion to a Rick Recht concert in Sacramento.  Regularly scheduled classes will begin on Sunday, October 15, 2017, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m., and will continue most Sunday nights through May 2018. A 2017-2018 calendar is available here.

Madrichim Program

This is an opportunity for Bet Haverim to support and mentor teens, as well as for teens to actively support our synagogue community, primarily by assisting in the Religious School program on Sunday mornings.  Applications for this program are accepted annually.  For more information, please see this link.
