forming a new bible reading group to begin after Passover. The
group will meet in a series of 6 weekly one-hour sessions centered on a
coherent theme. Each session will focus on selected readings from
the Torah, followed by group discussion of the main theme. The subjects
to be covered are the bondage in Egypt, selected stories from the
journey through the wilderness, the 10 Commandments and the sin of the
golden calf. Emphasis will be placed on archaeological and
historical evidence in an attempt to understand the ethnological
background and society reflected in the text. The class will meet at
CBH at 7:00pm on Wednesdays, 4/15, 4/29, 5/13, 5/27, 6/10, 6/24.

Kol HaNefesh - Voice of the Soul
Kol HaNefesh is a gathering of Jews of all backgrounds, interests and levels of observance. We meet quarterly on Sunday afternoons for half-day retreats which include a range of activities for "going inward" and revisiting the voice of our soul. Group discussions provide opportunities to share insights, life experiences and pressing questions, as well as the opportunities to take learnings from wisdom traditions outside of Judaism and explore how and where they are found within our faith.
